Next year will be a monumental one for Lincoln, and not just because it’s the luxury brand’s centennial. Lincoln has announced that 2022 will see the debut of its first-ever EV, bringing an American institution one step closer to a fully electrified future.
Lincoln teased the look of its first electric vehicle with a shadowy image of its face. Taking the idea of Quiet Flight into a new era, the Lincoln EV will draw on the stylish Zephyr Reflection concept car that debuted in Shanghai this year.
The upcoming EV should also advance the concept of the cabin as a sanctuary with a coast-to-coast digital display that runs the length of the dashboard. You can also expect an evolution of the brand’s horizontal design motif and a similar commitment to quality and quietness.
Of course, the drive will be one of the biggest factors of the Lincoln EV debuting in 2022. Don’t be surprised if this vehicle is fun to drive and powerful yet still offers incredible range for long-distance driving across Texas.
And Lincoln is only just getting started. Following the debut of its first EV next year, Lincoln plans to launch three additional electric vehicles by 2030. At that point, the Lincoln lineup will be fully electrified for zero-compromises zero-emissions driving.
“Our clients deserve the very best from Lincoln,” said Lincoln President Joy Falotico. “Our world-class vehicles, effortless services and advanced connected technology will allow us to create an always-on relationship with them and help transform the Lincoln brand for the future.”
